Auma's Long Run

Auma is a star runner. She has a shot at winning a track scholarship that could let her attend high school, a rare opportunity for girls in 1970s Kenya. But a mysterious disease called AIDS is ravaging her village, and soon both her parents fall ill. Auma's family needs her help at home—but leaving might be the only way to find the answers to her questions about this new disease.
